Markup Calculator

Turn a cost and markup percentage into a selling price, profit dollars, and resulting margin.

Your result

Enter values and choose Calculate results.

How it works

Profit = cost × markup. Price = cost + profit. Margin = profit ÷ price × 100.

Worked example

A cost of 80 with a 50% markup creates 40 profit, a 120 price, and a 33.33% margin.

Edge cases and limitations

Inputs must be finite. Negative values are accepted only where they represent a meaningful loss or cash outflow. Rounding is display-only, and results are not tax, legal, accounting, investment, or financial advice.

Frequently asked questions

How does markup become margin?

A 50% markup on 80 makes a 120 price, so the margin is 33.33%.
